Remembering my Grandma, Chris Kosley

27 April 2026

My Grandma passed away at home with family on April 16th, 2026. One of my favorite memories of Grandma is how she could talk to complete strangers. We’d go to a baseball game, a doctor’s appointment, or take a ride in a slow elevator… She had the ability to talk to anyone and everyone like they were old friends that hadn’t seen each other in a while. They’d talk about the weather, their lives, politics, religion, you name it. She had a kind, gentle way about her that always made people feel comfortable and welcome around her.

Trip to Slovakia

22 October 2024

As long as I can remember, Grandpa & Grandma and Mom always wanted to go back and explore Slovakia and see where their ancestors came from, but since they had kids and other responsibilities, they never were able to make the trip. I feel very grateful that Sarah and I were able to make the trip and take some time to explore Slovakia. I hope to be able to go back and explore some more with my brother and his family someday (and my sister too if she’ll ever talk to me again after all of the hiking I made her do! 🤣). My only regret was that we didn’t take the time to do the trip sooner while my Grandpa was still alive.

Christmas is a special time for me and my family. We still do many of the Slovak customs my grandpa and his family have been doing for over 113 years. His parents began the traditions with their marriage in 1909 and we have followed the traditions ever since then.

Remembering my Grandpa, Ray Kosley

20 December 2022

On Saturday, December 10th, 2022 my Grandpa, Raymond Edward Kosley, passed away in his sleep at the Advanced Health Care rehab center. He was 94 at the time. My grandma, Chris, was there by his side, just as she has been for almost 7 decades. Grandpa was a great man who taught us about being respectful and kind to others, working hard, being generous, and helping out where we could. We all love him a lot and he will be greatly missed, but I'll be forever thankful for the years that I got to know and learn from him.
